Responsibilities
The Communications Manager is part of the Marketing & Communications team that is responsible for building and safeguarding the Whale TV and Whale TV+ brands and reports to the VP Marketing & Communications. Your responsibilities include:
- Create & nurture strong relationships with media and industry analysts.
- Build awareness with trade & consumer press for Whale TV and Whale TV+ in key countries
- Launch new products and services through clever tactics that make us stand out.
- Make sure we are in the news cycle, even when we don’t have major launches.
- Manage the global news calendar by collaborating with the wider team and external partners.
- Being a trusted advisor to executives and stakeholders throughout the company.
- Write talking points, press releases, Q&As, blogs and other communications assets.
- Drive a solid internal communications strategy together with Human Resources.
- Preparing speakers for trade events with messaging and guidance.
- Training executives and being a spokesperson when the heat is on.
- Prevent and manage crisis situations with care.
Qualifications
- 10+ years of experience in Communications/PR in a comparable environment. If you have worked in the TV, Connected TV or Streaming world that is a plus.
- You bring a wealth of existing relationships in the trade media plus a great understanding of the current media landscape in Europe.
- Completed bachelor or university degree in Media, Communication, Journalism, or a comparable qualification.
- You have a passion for making complex things sounds remarkably simple.
- Teamwork is your second nature, and you have experience in working cross borders.
- You are fluent in English in both written and verbal communication, additional languages are a plus.
- You have a strategic brain, a hands-on mentality and are willing to travel.

Position requirements
- 10+ years of experience in Communications/PR
- A valid and permanent work permit for Germany or The Netherlands is mandatory
