Communications Manager

Responsibilities

The Communications Manager is part of the Marketing & Communications team that is responsible for building and safeguarding the Whale TV and Whale TV+ brands and reports to the VP Marketing & Communications. Your responsibilities include:

  • Create & nurture strong relationships with media and industry analysts.
  • Build awareness with trade & consumer press for Whale TV and Whale TV+ in key countries
  • Launch new products and services through clever tactics that make us stand out.
  • Make sure we are in the news cycle, even when we don’t have major launches.
  • Manage the global news calendar by collaborating with the wider team and external partners.
  • Being a trusted advisor to executives and stakeholders throughout the company.
  • Write talking points, press releases, Q&As, blogs and other communications assets.
  • Drive a solid internal communications strategy together with Human Resources.
  • Preparing speakers for trade events with messaging and guidance.
  • Training executives and being a spokesperson when the heat is on.
  • Prevent and manage crisis situations with care.

Qualifications

  • 10+ years of experience in Communications/PR in a comparable environment. If you have worked in the TV, Connected TV or Streaming world that is a plus.
  • You bring a wealth of existing relationships in the trade media plus a great understanding of the current media landscape in Europe.
  • Completed bachelor or university degree in Media, Communication, Journalism, or a comparable qualification.
  • You have a passion for making complex things sounds remarkably simple.
  • Teamwork is your second nature, and you have experience in working cross borders.
  • You are fluent in English in both written and verbal communication, additional languages are a plus.
  • You have a strategic brain, a hands-on mentality and are willing to travel.
